Work Experience:



  • Tswelopele Productions (2 weeks in June 2011- & 2 weeks in June 2012 during university vacation)

-Experience in the Top Billing production office. Hands on experience with planning of four biweekly shows. Organisation and coordination of interviews, interviewees and set venues. I also did research for the shows.
- I assisted directors on shoots for Top Billing with camera work, lighting and sound.
- Experience editing on Avid for both Pasella and Top Billing.
- Experience in the sound recording booth as well as audio mixing for Top Billing and Pasella.
- Experience on the live morning show, Espresso. Experience in the production room. Assisted with set design.



  • Top Billing Magazine (2010)

I interned under the editor, Simon Lewis. I assisted with editing as well as writing articles. I also assisted on photo shoots under the fashion and food editor. I got experience with Adobe Indesign whilst assisting with the layout of pages.

  • cueTV (2012)

I researched, filmed and edited six features over the ten day long National Arts Festival in Grahamstown.



  • Scifest Africa (2011 & 2012)

I researched, filmed and edited many features covering the science festival.
 

  • Edenvale and Bedfordview News community newspaper (Caxton). (2 weeks in June 2009 and 2 weeks in July 2012 during university vacation)

I did research, interviewed sources and wrote articles which were printed in the newspaper. I also took photographs and assisted with follow up stories.

  • Activate (2009-2010)

Activate is Rhodes University’s longest standing student newspaper. I wrote articles which were both printed and featured online. I researched for a number of articles which were both printed and online.
 

  • Albany Club Grahamstown- (2012)

Worked as a bar lady serving drinks and food.
 

  • Cape Union Mart (June 2007- November 2008)

I worked part time as a retail assistant packing shelves and assisting customers. Worked behind the till and assisted with cashing up.
 

  • Sports Scene (January- June 2007)

I worked part time as a retail assistant packing shelves and assisting customers. Worked behind the till and assisted with cashing up.

Skills and training
• Training in new media and cell phone media.
• Editing- online and off line editing on Avid, Final Cut Pro as well as Adobe Premier.
• Experience with lighting, camera work.
• Coordination of interviews, call sheets, treatments, research, schedules, shot lists and meetings with stake-holders and crew members.
• Management of communiqués between cast, crew and sources and interviewees in the films.
• Live show experience, worked as a floor manager/director.



University achievements
• Nominated for Rhodes University top 100
• I was the Environmental Representative for my House Committee. I managed and coordinated many events.
•  Secretary for the cheerleading society. My main roles where coordinating teams and organising all practices and performances and events at Rhodes and away. I was in charge of financial responsibilities for the various squads where uniforms and transport where major sections of financial coordination.



Community engagement
• Shine community project. Assist in teaching disadvantaged children how to read and write.
• Livingstone House community engagement working with Noncendo Pre-Primary School. We raised funds and upgraded facilities and provided a more secure place for the children to learn and play.
• Raphael Care Centre, an HIV/Aids Care centre for both children and adults.
